Startups & Entrepreneurs
Startups are the “Rock Stars of the web”, working on the next great thing to change the world and looking for early funding to get their project off the ground and move to the next level. Startups are the core element in the platform and everything is built around them.
Each startup profile can have several entrepreneur profiles linked to them (i.e. the founding team) and one entrepreneur profile can have multiple startups. To activate the entrepreneur profile, you need to either create a startup or belong to one.
Startups can publish their funding rounds and look for seed capital from the crowd and from private investors. Startups can also look for other individuals to join their startups for cash compensation or through a work investment arrangement, that is in exchange for equity. Possibilities are endless, startups can look for advisors, partners, affiliates, customers, mentors etc from a global community of like-minded individuals.
Funders are private investors of varying types. Usually they are called angel investors or partners in venture capital firms, but in our community they can even be individuals that are excited in startup companies. Funders are those who make investments or investment decisions for startup companies, depending on their interests and expertise. Funder profiles are always represented by individual, real people.
Funders can make direct investment offers to startups directly. They can discuss details and get involved with the entrepreneurs behind the startup and Grow VC provides tools for those discussions, for example a standardized term sheet and process tools. Funders can utilize the online process for efficient and purposeful matches and utilize Certified Partners to Grow VC in the closing process.
Experts provide services to startup companies: lawyers, accountants, consultants, mentors and other startup enthusiasts. Experts can be invited by a startup to join that startups profile to help add credibility to the venture.
Experts can browse for active opportunities in the global community in the most exciting startups and help entrepreneurs in developing their ventures. Experts can make work investments in the community, investing their work for an equity stake in the startup. Work Investments can be in various forms, ranging all the way from advisory roles to full on involvement in startup companies, possibly even in the very early stages.
